First Time Home Buyer Workshop
Learning Design Methods
For this project I was tasked with redesigning an existing first time home buyers workshop for a local real estate agent. Using principles from the Learning Design Methods course, I researched and developed a workshop presentation for my clients needs. To complete this redesign I used new learning design principles to create an engagement that not only educates the audience but also empowers them to learn about their options as a first time home buyer.
This project helped me learn how to interact with a client facing project and produce a learning design engagement that was not going to be delivered by me. I took time to research psychographics and demographics of first time homebuyers in the area to help support design decisions. I worked with my client to understand their needs and their pain points to create a new design that met their desired goals and outcomes.
In the future, I would add in more interactive elements for this designed workshop helping to reinforce learners memorization of key concepts. This project was the first step into my growth as learning designer and helped me learn how to defend my choices as a designer based on audience research.
