Chaotic Capital: Financial Card Game

Gaming, Design, and Education

Chaotic Capital is a personal finance tabletop game created to teach players how unpredictable money and finances can truly be. This was the final project for the learning in gaming course. I was tasked with creating a gamified learning engagement. Through the creation of this game I learned how effective gamification is during learning and reinforcing concepts.

The final game uses principles and ideology from different games to create a fun tabletop learning experience. Creating gamified learning requires understand outcomes, developing clear gaming mechanics, and creating direct instructions for gameplay. If given the opportunity I would have more play tests with different audiences to continue to refine this game and prepare it for distribution.

Games have been an integral part of how humans learn. From this course i feel that my style of learning design truly emerged heavily influencing my focus on incorporating gamificiation into all my learning designs.
